ANVISA, CMED and DCB data provenance

.md

Understand Brazilian data sources, evidence classes and IaBula coverage limits before interpreting pharmaceutical records.

The role of each source#

  • ANVISA: open registered-medication data and regulatory facts present in the adopted resource.
  • CMED: public presentation data and fields from the adopted pricing resources; V1 does not advertise a pricing endpoint.
  • DCB: public active-ingredient numbers and denominations from the adopted list.

IaBula structures adopted resources; it is not an official API of these authorities and does not represent all their systems. Sources publish at different intervals. This documentation does not promise real-time updates, exhaustive coverage or an update SLA.

Read evidence with each fact#

Important records carry evidence. Classes distinguish official, derived and inferred facts where applicable. OFFICIAL requires traceable official evidence; DERIVED describes transformation; INFERRED describes inference. These classes are not clinical accuracy probabilities.

Evidence includes class and may include source, dataset, retrieved_at, source_record_id, source_run_id, attribute and rule_version. Change evidence adds source_version and source_url. Clients should not fill absent fields by assumption.

Absence, nulls and identity#

An empty list describes the catalog, not the entire market. A null field indicates information unavailable in the contract. Active-ingredient text does not imply a canonical link, and similar names do not establish a regulatory relationship. Preserve these distinctions in your product.
